Lead By Example

Being a Dad is probably the biggest and most important role I will ever fill in my life. In the Bible, the book of Proverbs, verse 22:6, says “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” I’m a firm believer in the idea that the best way to lead or train anyone is by example. Being a father has made my relationship with Christ much stronger and it has also made my relationship with my wife, children, and family much stronger, as well. Christ has that kind of effect on people.

I remember the day my wife told me we were pregnant for the second time. An overwhelming feeling of joy filled my heart. Due to a miscarriage, we had lost our first child in the fourth month of our pregnancy. However, I must be honest, I was overjoyed, but I also had an overwhelming feeling of fear. I wondered. “Are we going to miscarry again, am I going to be a good father, how on earth will I be able to provide for my wife and our unborn child.” So many thoughts were running through my head. And finally, I decided to leave it all in God’s hands, And He showed up like he always does. Now, we have two beautiful healthy children. I am a pretty good dad, and we live a wonderful life full of many blessings.

To all the new dads out there that may be reading this post, I encourage you to trust God and give it all to Him and watch how things work out for you and your family. Thank you, Dad’s List, for giving me the opportunity to share my story. I hope someone reads this and is inspired!
