The Silent Reward

Like many fathers, before I had kids, I asked myself, “Will I ever have kids, what will they look like, am I worthy enough to be someone's dad, and take care of another human being and do a good job at it?” After 13 wonderful years and three beautiful children, the questions that linger are: “Am I doing enough and how can I support and nurture my kids so they have better opportunities than I did?” Now, I find myself looking at old pictures of when my kids were young, and it motivates me to be a better father, and it inspires me to encourage them in everything they do. The reward is the proud heart-filled feeling I get when I celebrate my children’s accomplishments. I feel blessed that I can be there for my kids every day.
